Hi everyone!

In today’s meeting we discussed the upcoming office hours. We still need two volunteers to facilitate for February and March. Christina and Amber have volunteered for April and May.

Please let me know if you are able to help facilitate in February or March.

Additionally, we need people to take notes for the office hours for February, March, April, and May. These notes are to be shared more widely with those that could not attend but are interested in the conversation. These would be takeaways and highlights from the conversation, not a full transcription. No expertise in the conversation is required. Please let me know if you are willing to take notes for any of these events, and we’ll include you in the scheduling.

Here are the potential topics that we brainstormed in the November meeting:

  *   Accrediting agency requirements and faculty perceptions of transfer curriculum textbook requirements
  *   Library-owned ebooks as replacements for textbooks and —how do publisher ebooks licenses help or hinder this aspect of library support of textbook affordability?
  *   How we started our OER program
  *   About the OpenIllinois OER Commons Hub and the Author Tool
  *   Advice from experienced OER librarians
  *   How to obtain funding and how to expend it
  *   Accessibility of OER materials
  *   Faculty/Student OER Collaborations
  *   State-wide appropriations for Textbook Affordability: How do librarians lobby
