OER Committee members,
Throughout the year, you have shared many wonderful successes about your OER initiatives on your campuses.
Would you be willing to email<mailto:long20 at uillinois.edu;%20mleigh at uillinois.edu?subject=OER%20Success%20Stories> me and Michele a brief success from this year that you are excited to share on our list of OER Success Stories that will display on the Open Education Week webpage? We plan to send the OER Committee a draft of the webpage for any final edits on Thursday at noon, and hope to distribute the webpage to CARLI members on Friday.
Here are the Success Stories that members have shared with Chris Sweet so far:
Northwestern University Libraries is currently in the fifth year of our OER Faculty Grant Program. Since 2019, we've awarded 27 grants, saving an estimated 4,611 students $669K per year. In addition to continuing the grant program, we also recently obtained institutional access to Pressbooks, which will help to ensure the sustainability of OER creation and support into the future.
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign published 3 OER textbooks through our Library publishing arm, saving students at the University of Illinois and beyond from having to spend money on high textbook costs. The three textbooks are: Drug and Drug Misuse: A Community Health Perspective by Bazan et. al., available at https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://doi.org/10.21900/wd.16__;!!DZ3fjg!6k6P64B1MTf2YxTy14z5WznDux28fJCv38Bi7VptmoAUU5YPZuwhKNW7DZg-WFTiFlpZKkPijYNojAVFdar71xHdv-gbiQ$ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/doi.org/10.21900/wd.16__;!!DZ3fjg!7ugZRnADgsCWxvC0oev7d6sN6kfU60-wlRXULlwuLKWTNvzntz8YlAeyPMDfufnR1lZTg87SqDiv9X43_-o$>; Instruction in Libraries and Information Centers: An Introduction by Saunders and Wong, available at https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://doi.org/10.21900/wd.12__;!!DZ3fjg!6k6P64B1MTf2YxTy14z5WznDux28fJCv38Bi7VptmoAUU5YPZuwhKNW7DZg-WFTiFlpZKkPijYNojAVFdar71xF1UE4qgQ$ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/doi.org/10.21900/wd.12__;!!DZ3fjg!7ugZRnADgsCWxvC0oev7d6sN6kfU60-wlRXULlwuLKWTNvzntz8YlAeyPMDfufnR1lZTg87SqDivaGhqiAI$>; and A Person-Centered Guide to Demystifying Technology by Wolske, available at https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://doi.org/10.21900/wd.7__;!!DZ3fjg!6k6P64B1MTf2YxTy14z5WznDux28fJCv38Bi7VptmoAUU5YPZuwhKNW7DZg-WFTiFlpZKkPijYNojAVFdar71xFOx73Wog$ <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/doi.org/10.21900/wd.7__;!!DZ3fjg!7ugZRnADgsCWxvC0oev7d6sN6kfU60-wlRXULlwuLKWTNvzntz8YlAeyPMDfufnR1lZTg87SqDivJ6pM9Q4$>.
