(via Tracy Popp, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) Join the 2025 Best Practices Exchange (BPE) from Monday, June 9, to Wednesday, June 11, at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. The meeting?s theme will be ?Behind the Scenes: People and Practice?. BPE is a community of digital librarians, archivists, records managers, and other information professionals who come together annually to discuss practice, experiences, and lessons learned. Sessions and discussion groups cover topics such as digital preservation, repositories, metadata, digitization, and user experience. BPE is unique in its culture of privacy and respect; attendees are encouraged to share both successes and failures around projects, products, staffing, grant proposals, and more. The community encourages questions that you may be nervous to ask elsewhere. It is a space for novices and experts to learn from each other with the mutual expectation of confidentiality and respect. Visit the Best Practices Exchange website to learn more, and sign up for the BPE Announcement List for updates on the forthcoming call for proposals and registration information. Questions? A colleague has acquired a collection of wax records from the 1940s, 1950s, & 1960s; the collection belonged to her grandparents. Unfortunately, she does not have a player so they are just taking up space at this time. What libraries, colleges, museums, or affiliated institutions might be interested in having this collection? My colleague will happily donate for preservation/ digitization/ etc. Please share as needed! Essentially, a solo ad involves renting someone else?s email list to promote your offering, making it a direct and personalized approach to reach potential customers. To ensure you make the most out of your solo ad campaigns, it?s essential to adopt a strategic approach. The key to a successful solo ad begins with choosing the right provider like https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://bestsoloadsprovider.com/__;!!DZ3fjg!9-xZtRp2mEQeCp_ipy6YlPuvkGsjbKy4Prt_EjGR-Z6xo_8wvCb2zEzZL_rZ99uXKfEaEURgRCvq2q1zoaBTJ9e3zuO_tOc$ . Select someone whose email list resonates with your niche or industry, ensuring that your message reaches an audience already interested in what you have to offer. Research and read reviews to gauge the effectiveness and authenticity of potential list owners. Remember, quality outweighs quantity when it comes to the audience. Crafting compelling content for your solo ad is equally important. Your email should be concise, engaging, and focused on the value proposition. Highlight what sets your product or service apart and why the recipient should care. A clear call-to-action (CTA) is crucial; it guides the reader on what to do next, whether visiting a website, signing up for a newsletter, or making a purchase. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
