[spcollig] GLUGM 2010 - What is it?

Thank you Melody for pointing out a glaring omission on the part of the GLUG. We
are so incorporated into our ELUNA world that we made some fatal assumptions.

The Great Lakes Users Group (GLUG) is a regional association of ELUNA, which is the
"Ex Lbiris Users of North America" (ELUNA). The Ex Libris Users of North America
(ELUNA) is a not-for-profit educational group of users of library software products
licensed by Ex Libris. The national ELUNA organization meets yearly with each
region meeting yearly as well.

This is a great opportunity to meet other users who use Ex Libris products (Voyager,
Aleph, Primo, SFX, Metalib, Primo/Primo Central, bX, Rosetta) as well as meet
representatives of Ex Libris who will be in attendance. The agenda this year will
cover a broad range of topics (if you would like to "present" you can still submit
it) and the day long Voyager MS Access SQL Reporting workshop (hands-on) is a very
popular workshop.

Now that you know what GLUGM is and what they are trying to do, please visit the
official conference website at:
http://library.calumet.purdue.edu/glugm/

Remember, that our greatest resource is ourselves, the users of Ex Libris products,
who are willing to share the knowledge and experience we have gained. If your
institution does not have the budget for the annual ELUNA, "come on down" to
Evanston, attend GLUGM, and visit Chicago while you are here. It is a great value
and professionally invaluable.

Hope to see some of you at the GLUGM 2010, now that you know better what it is.

Thank you,
Michael North

Sorry, can't resist. Back in the day "Users" were obviously, well, um,
users (of drugs). Figuring that is not what GLUGM members do (or at least
not what they are promoting), I have to say it took me a few minutes to
drill down far enough into the group's info on the meeting announcement
website to figure out what GLUGM members are users of! The only apparent
thing is Great Lakes--and I do know there are groups working on dealing
with proper use of the water in the Great Lakes, so it doesn't all get
pumped out to Arizona to water lawns, but I didn't imagine that was what
was meant either. Maybe some tag line or mission statement would be an
    effective use of website space!
