Morris Library's Special Collections is celebrating the freedom to read
with its annual observance of Banned Books Week. "The Battle of the
Books: Censorship and Culture Wars" will be on display in the Hall of
Presidents and Chancellors and will feature several of books that were
banned, censored or burned in the past. Thanks to Melissa Hubbard and
Ann Myers for another great and educational exhibit.

The exhibit will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and
noon to 4 p.m. Saturday until December-so bring your friends and family.
Don't forget a public reading from banned books will be at 5:30 p.m.
Thursday at Longbranch Coffeehouse in Carbondale. As Melissa mentioned,
cookies and coffee will be part of the celebration.
