Apologies for cross-posting...

Registration is now open for the first in the “Anatomy of a Digital
Project” webinar series!
Join us for the webinar “Conracting with Vendors for Digitization
Services,” presented by Thomas Wood of the University of Illinois at
Springfield. This webinar will take place on Wednesday, December 7,
2011, from 2:00 – 3:00pm, and will cover the types of services
digitization vendors offer and provide advice on points to consider when
choosing a company. Topics covered include identifying the scope of the
work, what outcomes are intended, what responsibilities lie with each
party, and the types of agreements that may be needed. Tips for writing
a request for proposal (RFP) and navigating the levels of permissions
needed in public institutions will also be discussed. Participants will
receive a link to a list of regional vendors and discuss strategies for
finding ones that suit an institution’s needs.
If multiple people from one institution plan to view this webinar
together, we will need only one person to register. This webinar has
both VOIP or phone connection options for the audio portion.
