FREE short course on digital print preservation - Please join us at the University of Illinois!



>From 9-noon on June 10th, Daniel Burge of the Image Permanence Institute (IPI) will be presenting a short course the preservation of digital prints, which will provide a summary of the issues involved with digital print collection care. Topics to be covered will include definition of the term digital print, the history and technologies of the most common digital printers, the variety of possible formats, likely forms of deterioration, general recommendations for care, as well as suggested naming conventions and descriptive terminology for cataloging and other records. Ample time for in-class discussions will be given to ensure that all questions can be raised and addressed. A free continental breakfast will be provided.



When: 9 am - noon Monday, June 10th.
