[CARLICountsCohortThree] Information for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Oct. 5-7)

Can't wait to get started Tuesday morning! As promised, it will be an immersive experience and very engaging.

In addition to the Zoom link and schedule Anne sent, during the session we'll be sharing files (which will also be posted in Canvas) and links to live co-editing spaces for our breakout sessions. As such, it may be worth logging in to Canvas as well as having a folder on your computer where you will save files. The files will be Word documents or PDFs.

I recommend as well a notepad, a couple of pens/markers in different colors, and some small scraps of paper or post-it notes. If only there was a way to also deliver a hot breakfast!

Best,
Lisa

Subject: [CARLICountsCohortThree] Information for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (Oct. 5-7)

Hello Cohort 3! We’re so excited to see you all tomorrow!

Attached is the "syllabus" for our October intensive. Join us each day at 8:45 am for "Coffee Chat" if you can. We'll start the program promptly at 9:00 am. We will take a short mid-morning break and end promptly at 11:00 am. We'll keep the Zoom open for a few extra minutes afterwards for any individual questions, etc.

TO DO:

  1. Please review your library's application to participate in CARLI Counts. Be prepared to discuss with your team the priorities at your institution that are the most salient/important/relevant for your library's impact and how you expect your library to benefit from participating in CARLI Counts. Your library may have discussed multiple possible topics in its application. Focus your attention on the topic that is the focus of your team. If you don’t have your application, please let me know (abcraig at uillinois.edu<mailto:abcraig at uillinois.edu>) and I’ll send you a copy.

  1. · Creating Sustainable Assessment through Collaboration: A National Program Reveals Effective Practices. Pay particular attention to the best, promising, and emerging library practices reported as impacting on student learning and success and reflect on how they are aligned with your campus priorities.

· Sensemaking for Decisionmaking. Does your library use assessment as a map, compass, and/or strategic guide?

· Assessing the Impact of Reference Assistance and Library Instruction on Retention and Grades Using Student Tracking Technology. Dennis Krieb will be giving a presentation about his work during the program. What questions come to mind as you read his article?
