Hi folks,

Saw this on the ExL Primo listerv today – this fixes the issue wherein the first author’s first initial isn’t added to APA citations. Thought I’d pass it along in case you hadn’t seen it elsewhere.

What steps did you use? Do you already have apa-cv in the list?

Alma > Config > Search for “citation” > Citation Styles
Click Add link
Fill in as follows
Code = apa-cv
Label = whatever you want
Order = whatever you want
Enabled =  True
Click Add button

I was unable to follow the directions to activate the apa.cv<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/apa.cv__;!!PfbeBCCAmug!nmgr8J0ld0oyf-KExku4ES9zCsd_RGNu62gdiFxILbJ5OXgtcO7vwODjwr8a-O4ivTLAjPkjqAxLad3XxFrFJg$> because it was telling me that it was unrecognized when I tried to add it. Is there another step I need to take?

Many of us are using the alternative style apa-cv which formats correctly – this is while we await a fix for the main apa style.

We currently have the following apa.csl citation style added as one of our Primo citation styles (Alma Configuration > Discovery > Other > Citation Styles)
