[OERCommittee] Statemen to College Course Materials Affordability and Equitable Access Task Force

Hi all!



First, as you may have seen in the OER digest, I mistakenly sent this link there. I’ve created a separate version and deleted the original to hopefully avoid confusion. Sorry about that.



Yesterday at the ILA Public Policy Committee meeting, I brought up this statement to take the temperature of the committee’s willingness to support this statement or something with similar sentiments. It did seem likely that the committee, as well as ILA, may be willing to support the statement to the task force. I’d like to share our statement with the ILA PPC, but I would like for members of the CARLI OER Committee to look at it critically before sharing it. Conversations about making a joint statement between ILA and CARLI have not happened, and should the statements need to be separate, they would not need to be identical. However, I know there is a lot of experience in the committee, and would love some input on the core of the statement so it is in good shape should ILA decide to adopt it.



The ILA Executive Board meets May 19th, and it would be good to have this for ILA before then so they can vote to decide if the organization as a whole would like to adopt it.



If you can take a moment to look at it this week, I would like to share it early next week with ILA.
