Title: Prototyping Accessible Description and Discovery in Alma and Primo: Some Learnings from the CARL-ARL Marrakesh Treaty Implementation Project

Abstract:
One of the components of the work of the above was to work with two Alma and Primo libraries, the University of Florida, a member of the 40-university consortia Florida Virtual Campus (FLVC), and the University of Windsor, a member library of the 18-university Ontario Council of University Libraries (OCUL). In the project, we sought to investigate and prototype the possibilities that the Ex Libris library services platform allows to improve access to digital accessible books, in EPUB, PDF and DAISY formats. This session will overview some of these possibilities. We did not get to actually put these into the prototyping in many cases, because of existing limitations in how consortia were set up. We will have some discussion time for participants to share their ideas and individual approaches in making digital accessible materials more available and discoverable in research library contexts.
