CARLI is pleased announce that the Data Sync processes for I-Share libraries between Alma and OCLC have been restored and records are being processed normally!   The backlog of files has been sent to OCLC, the daily updates have resumed for print holdings, and the weekly updated have resumed for electronic holdings.

CARLI has determined that the Data Sync process<https://www.carli.illinois.edu/products-services/i-share/physical-res-man/oclc-data-sync> from Alma to add/delete OCLC bib holdings for both print and e-resources has not been running since May 13, 2024. MARC record files were not delivered successfully delivered to OCLC; however, CARLI retains copies of these files in case of any problems with the Data Sync process. CARLI has identified the problem and is working with OCLC send and process the files. Once the backlog of files has been sent, we will resume daily updates for print holdings and weekly updates for electronic holdings as documented, and CARLI will notify I-Share libraries.  There is no need to change any of your current workflows in Alma.

This interruption will delay the setting or removing of bib holdings in OCLC. If your library needs holdings set or removed from a record in OCLC urgently, you may do so manually in Connexion or WorldShare Record Manager.
